The Great Gate, Trinity College
Signed open edition Giclée print on 230 gsm heavyweight paper.
The scene here is the Great Gate at Trinity College. In this picture there are three time stamps – the background (the giant wooden doors), the middle ground (the vintage car), and the foreground (the couple looking down at the mobile phone). The doors at the entrance of Trinity College date back nearly 500 years, and this makes the vintage car, by comparison, a piece of modern technology. But the car soon becomes clunky and antiquated when compared to the tiny device held in the man’s hand. Above the doors, King Henry VIII, like a prophet, seems to stare down at this timeline of change.
This bold graphic print makes for a unique purchase for any art lover who is interested in a 21st Century approach to documenting this lively city. Perfect on its own or make it part of the series by teaming it up with a selection of other prints available in the range.
